R. Kelly, who’s featured on Puff Daddy’s current Top
Ten Rhythmic Top 40 hit “Satisfy You,” is in a
Chicago studio working on his next album. Jive Records
hopes to get Kelly’s new CD, his followup to last
years “R,” in stores during the first quarter of
2000.
Puff Daddy has completed work on the track “Got To
Be Insanity” for Ice Cube’s upcoming “War &
Peace Volume 2: The War Disc,” due in stores January
25, 2000.
Bad Boy Records founder Sean “Puffy” Combs served
as executive producer on the eagerly awaited posthumous
CD by his close friend Notorious B.I.G.. “Born
Again” is slated to hit stores on December 7th. MTV (http://www.mtv.com)
reports the CD, which features narration by B.I.G.’s
mother Voletta Wallace, is more than just a rehash of
old material.
“His mother is narrating the album,” Combs said,
“and it’s about his life. We start with his demo
tape and go down [through] history with some songs that
you’ve never heard before. There’s some interesting
things [on the record]. This is not a greatest hits
album, it’s not a remix album, this is an album of
songs that you’ve never heard before or songs that
have never been released.”
Puff Daddy is slated to play a New Years Eve show in
Miami, Florida.
